Happy New Year!

1 year ago today I posted my first blog post! I can’t quite believe what a journey its been for me, looking back through all my blog posts and remembering this time in 2015, its like a different world, a different me. It is 2016… can you believe it?

2015 flew by for me, I spent the first 4 months and the last month in the USA. (New York with a christmas hiatus in Rapid City, SD) I developed in all the worlds I currently reside in – I produced and directed my first short film, I worked for ITV and developed my practical productions skills more than I ever thought I would, I progressed a crazy amount in the acting / singing part of my life and finally I continued to write and post my journey on this blog while writing up other ideas and projects that will eventually be continued and come to life in their own time. I will definitely miss this year but I am so excited for what is to come.

To be totally honest, and I don’t mean this in a negative way, I am not a fan of the New Years celebration in general I always think, for me, it is very anticlimactic. I always think something incredible is going to happen at midnight but it never does. I always live my life striving for new things and setting new goals sometimes weekly so I don’t use it as a change to accomplish and set new resolutions because, as we all know, New Years resolutions tend to only last a week but the goals one makes in life last longer than that! HOWEVER, I did have a great New Year with family this year and I really did start the year off really well. (spilling Champagne down my sister-in-laws back and watching the NYC ball drop live for the first time!) I think that is what it all comes down to – starting the year off well and happy.

Saying that, What I AM a fan of is positivity, setting goals and achieving so I ask you, what are your goals this year? What do you want to accomplish? Don’t let it be something that is silly or unachievable that is just going to make you miserable… like, I am only going to eat green foods this year. That is ridiculous… so don’t do that. But think about something you have always wanted to do like visit Niagara Falls or work in your dream job or find someone who understands you as well as you understand your self. No matter how small and trivial you think it is, write it down and find a way to achieve it. Nothing is ever small or trivial if you WANT it, don’t make your life a one lane car drive. You have what it takes to do everything you want with the time you have.

That applies to me as well, with a little bit of dedication and planning I can live exactly how I want to live this year and do the things I want to do. I want to live healthier, I want to keep doing the things I love doing. I want to remember the worry free, happy mentality I had in December 2015 and carry it right the way through to 2016. I want to keep being the REAL me and not let anyone stop me.

Let 2016 be the best year yet.

Smile, Be Positive and stay tuned!
