I would say I am constantly doing – but I am always asking myself… am I doing enough? My answer to that is always no. I crave more in life – more ideas, more work, more projects, more published videos… just more! I am always pushing myself further and love to see results.
I recently produced a video with my sister-in-law called ‘Living In Life’s Front Row’ – the short film is about her journey though training and completing her first triathlon, having never swam at a competitive level in her life, the video really demonstrates a practical example of living in the front row. I learnt a lot from producing this film, not just about film making but about life. The concept of living in the front row of life really hit home with me. Throughout the creative process I would be constantly asking myself – am I living in MY front row? The answer was always unsure but If you asked me the same question today the answer would be unequivocally YES. ‘What’s changed?’ I hear you ask – who knows. I think I know myself a bit better and I’ve learned a very important lesson –
DOING MEANS DOING
I know how easy it is to SAY you are doing and SAY you are at 150% but the reality is different. Its so easy to mistake stress for having no time and nothing else to give. There are a couple of solutions to this I have worked out over the last few months… the first being:
Don’t Stress. Easier said than done, I know. But things happen SO much easier and you work so much better when stress is not a factor. Breathe, meditate, take 5 minutes and sit in the (non existent English) sun. Take a walk… go to the gym. There are a million ways to relieve stress, find what works for you and make it happen.
Actually Do. I am a sucker for lists, planning, aims and big picture but the only way you will achieve is to just DO. That it, it is that simple. Just do – paint the picture you have always wanted to paint, start the business you have always wanted to start, go to that place you have always wanted to go! Find a way, plan it and do it – that is the first step to where you want to be.
So I’m going to leave you with that. Go and do!
